About the role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bartender to join the team at Knalpot Restaurant or at Thai Thai Restaurant in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. This is a full-time position based on-site at our restaurant location. As Bartender, you will be the face of our beverage service, creating memorable experiences for our guests whilst maintaining the highest standards of mixology, customer service and bar operations. This role is essential to delivering the exceptional hospitality that defines Knalpot Restaurant and contributes directly to our guests' overall dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a wide variety of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences
• Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of our beverage menu, including ingredients, flavours, preparation methods and pairings with food offerings
• Providing knowledgeable recommendations to guests and upselling premium spirits and signature cocktails where appropriate
• Maintaining exceptional standards of bar cleanliness, organisation and hygiene in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Operating the point-of-sale system accurately and processing payments securely and efficiently
• Managing bar inventory, monitoring stock levels and reporting when supplies require replenishment
• Engaging professionally and courteously with guests, remembering regular patrons and their preferences to build loyalty and repeat business
• Collaborating effectively with front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery during service periods
• Adhering to responsible alcohol service practices and verifying identification where required by law
• Maintaining professional appearance and presentation standards at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Bartender in a restaurant, hotel or similar hospitality establishment
• Proficiency in preparing classic and contemporary cocktails, with knowledge of mixing techniques and flavour combinations
• Strong understanding of spirits, wines, beers and other beverages, including origins, characteristics and serving temperatures
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse clientele and handle customer concerns diplomatically
• Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly those relating to food and beverage service and responsible alcohol service
• Competence in operating point-of-sale systems and managing cash transactions accurately
• Ability to work effectively during busy service periods, maintaining composure and attention to detail under pressure
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues across all departments
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by the business
• Valid certification in responsible alcohol service or a commitment to obtaining it
