Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bartender in hospitality, with at least 1 year in a similar role.
• Strong mixology knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails.
• Excellent product knowledge of spirits, beers, wines and other beverages.
• Outstanding customer service, professional demeanor during busy periods.
• Fluent in English; Indonesian language skills are a plus.
• Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Well-presented with high personal hygiene standards.
• Good understanding of responsible beverage service and local liquor laws.

About the role

PT Blue Waves Hospitality Indonesia is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Bartender to join our team in Seminyak, Bali. This is a full-time position where you will be the face of our bar, creating memorable experiences for our guests through expertly crafted cocktails, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality. As a Bartender, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the ambiance and reputation of our establishment, whilst contributing to our commitment to delivering outstanding guest satisfaction. This role offers the opportunity to showcase your mixology skills, product knowledge, and customer service expertise in a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, spirits, beers, wines, and soft drinks, adhering to company recipes and presentation standards
• Provide expert recommendations on drink selections based on guest preferences, dietary requirements, and occasions
• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and organisation behind the bar, including regular restocking of supplies, glassware, and equipment
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently, processing payments and maintaining cash register accountability
• Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere and building positive relationships to encourage repeat business
• Monitor guest consumption responsibly and refuse service when necessary, adhering to local liquor laws and venue policies
• Collaborate with bar staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations and seamless service delivery during peak and off-peak hours
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, specials, and new beverage offerings to effectively communicate with guests
• Follow health and safety protocols, including proper handling of glassware, bottles, and bar equipment to prevent accidents and injuries
• Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues in delivering consistent, high-quality service

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Bartender in a hospitality setting, with a minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of mixology, including classic and contemporary cocktail recipes, preparation techniques, and presentation styles
• Excellent product knowledge of spirits, beers, wines, and other beverages, with the ability to provide informed recommendations
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to remain calm, professional, and attentive during busy periods
• Strong communication skills in English; additional languages such as Indonesian are advantageous
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
• High standards of personal presentation and hygiene
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
• Knowledge of responsible beverage service and local liquor licensing laws
