Job summary

Desa Kitsuné Bali is seeking a talented Barista to join our beverage programme on Bali. You will craft espresso-based drinks and specialty beverages, delivering exceptional guest experiences in a vibrant hospitality setting.

As part of our team, you will operate and maintain coffee equipment, develop knowledge of our origins and brewing methods, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while working alongside front-of-house and kitchen staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Barista to join the team at Desa Kitsuné Bali. This is a full-time position based in Bali, where you will be at the heart of our beverage programme, crafting exceptional coffee and specialty drinks for our guests. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer experiences and maintaining the high standards that define our establishment. This role offers the opportunity to showcase your skills, creativity and dedication to the art of coffee whilst working in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks, filter coffee and specialty beverages with consistency and precision

Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders and other coffee equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene standards

Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our coffee offerings, including origins, flavour profiles and brewing methods

Interact professionally and courteously with guests, taking orders and providing knowledgeable recommendations

Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic work station, adhering to food safety and health regulations

Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups and other ingredients, reporting shortages to management

Work collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery

Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the values and aesthetic of Desa Kitsuné Bali

Assist with training and mentoring of junior barista staff when required

What we’re looking for

Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar coffee-focused role within a hospitality setting

Proficiency in espresso machine operation and milk steaming techniques

Strong understanding of coffee varieties, origins and extraction methods

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests in a friendly and professional manner

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail

Good hygiene and food safety awareness, including knowledge of relevant regulations

Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and peak service periods

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Creativity and passion for beverage innovation and continuous improvement

Experience working in a tropical or resort destination is advantageous
