Job summary

Novotel Makassar Grand Shayla is seeking a Banquet Supervisor to lead the banquet team and oversee operations before, during, and after events. You will supervise, brief, coach, and motivate staff to ensure flawless execution of meetings, weddings, conferences, and social events.

You will collaborate with Culinary, Events, Stewarding and other hotel departments, monitor service quality and guest needs, and uphold food safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience in banquet operations, preferably within a 5 star hotel.
• Strong knowledge of banquet service, event operations, and food and beverage standards.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong guest service orientation with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet operations before, during, and after events
• Lead, brief, coach, and motivate the banquet team
• Ensure seamless execution of meetings, weddings, conferences, and social events
• Coordinate event setups, room layouts, table arrangements, equipment, and service requirements
• Ensure all events are delivered in line with Novotelservice standards
• Coordinate closely with Culinary, Events, Stewarding, and other hotel departments
• Monitor food and beverage service, presentation, timing, and quality
• Welcome guests and respond promptly to requests, concerns, and special requirements
• Conduct pre-event briefings and communicate event details, VIP requirements, and special arrangements
• Monitor team grooming, service etiquette, cleanliness, and professional standards
• Coach and develop team members through on-the-job training and constructive feedback
• Monitor banquet equipment and inventory and report shortages, damages, or maintenance requirements
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety standards
