Job summary

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is seeking an Assistant Executive Housekeeper to assist the Executive Housekeeper in managing the Housekeeping Department and ensuring the highest cleanliness standards. This role oversees cleaning and maintenance on floors and public areas and acts as the department head in the Executive Housekeeper's absence.

Qualifications

• Indonesian citizenship.
• Equivalent to a College Degree in Administration of Hotel Management.
• 3–5 years experience in a Housekeeping management position, preferably in a 5‑star hotel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with superb presentation and grooming.
• Strong management skills and ability to inspire others.
• Experience in revenue management would be an advantage.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Housekeeping Department staff to ensure prompt and courteous service to guests and adherence to hotel standards.
• Daily assignment of duties and special projects to Room Attendants and Public Area Cleaners; follow up and inform the Executive Housekeeper.
• Check rooms randomly, including VIP, VVIP, and repeated guests; coordinate flower requirements and other special requests.
• Inspect floors and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance; verify contractor work and ensure compliance with Kempinski standards.
• Participate in recruitment of new staff by screening and interviewing applicants.
• Identify training needs, develop training plans, and obtain approval before implementation.
• Keep staff informed on daily operations and relevant job information.
• Anticipate and manage equipment and supplies; monitor usage to meet budget and ensure proper usage of tools.
• Handle guest comments and requests; suggest improvements to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Monitor procedures such as Lost and Found, Key Control, Security and Emergency procedures, and Health & Safety for employees and guests.
• Participate in housekeeping projects including scheduling, inspections, record-keeping, and inter-department coordination.
• Assist in preparing annual manning guide, CAPEX budget and departmental budget to meet business objectives.
• Accomplish administrative duties including meetings, reports, and daily logs.
