Job summary

AI Rudder is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Jakarta to deploy conversational AI into customer environments. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to design, develop, and deploy backend systems and integrations, using Go or Python after onboarding.

You will travel frequently across APAC, solve complex problems end-to-end, and turn customer workflows into production-ready solutions while maintaining ownership of the outcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of full-time software/AI/Forward Deployed Engineering experience.
• Hands-on backend engineering experience with production systems.
• Experience turning ambiguous customer requirements into production work.
• Strong English reading and oral communication for technical meetings.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer problems, clarify impact and acceptance criteria.
• Translate workflows into technical plans with milestones and risks.
• Build prototypes and mature the right parts into production systems.
• Troubleshoot cross-service issues using logs, metrics, data.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, QA, and customer teams on validation and launch.
• Share learnings from deployments and build tooling to prevent issues.
• Turn recurring issues into reusable documentation and tooling.
• Design and build backend services, APIs, and customer integrations using Go or Python.
