Job summary

AI Rudder is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to deploy our AI-driven conversational solutions in Jakarta and across APAC. You will work onsite with customers, build backend services, and integrate with existing systems using Go or Python, Docker, and Kubernetes.

You will travel frequently, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and own end-to-end deployments from scoping to production. English proficiency and hands-on AI tooling experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Engineering.
• 3+ years of full-time experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, or complex B2B delivery.
• Hands-on backend engineering experience with production systems.
• Experience taking customer-facing projects from ambiguous requirements to production.
• English proficiency to lead customer technical meetings.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer problems and requirements; clarify impact, scope, priorities, and acceptance criteria.
• Translate customer workflows into technical plans, milestones, risks, and launch criteria.
• Build prototypes when requirements are unclear, then turn the right parts into production-ready systems.
• Troubleshoot cross-service issues using logs, metrics, and data, and drive them to resolution.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, QA, and customer teams on validation, launch, monitoring, and handover.
• Share learnings from real deployments with product and engineering, flagging gaps and building tooling where needed.
• Turn recurring issues into documentation, tests, tools, or other reusable solutions.
• Design and build backend services, APIs, customer integrations, and automation features, using Go or Python after onboarding.
