Job summary

Charterhouse Hong Kong is seeking a Trade Services professional to join its Operations team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on hands-on documentary trade processing and trade finance operations in a dynamic banking environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in trade finance, with deep knowledge of L/Cs, UR rules, and compliance. Collaboration with internal teams and system projects is essential to support efficient service delivery.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations, Trade Services, or Documentary Trade within banking.
• Hands-on experience with Import & Export L/Cs, documentary collections, trade loans, guarantees and related trade products.
• Knowledge of international trade rules and practices (UCP600, URC522, ISBP, ISP98, URDG758).
• Familiarity with trade compliance, sanctions screening, AML and financial crime controls.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end processing and checking of trade finance transactions, including Import and Export LCs, amendments, import/export bills, trade loans, banker's acceptances, shipping guarantees, and standby letters of credit.
• Ensure transactions comply with procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review trade-related MIS reports and customer outstanding reports.
• Participate in trade systems projects, including requirements gathering and UAT.
• Provide guidance to junior team members on processing, products, and systems usage.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Compliance, and Business teams to support efficiency.
