Job summary

Charterhouse Limited, on behalf of a well-established international banking institution in Hong Kong, seeks an Associate to support Trade Services Operations. You will handle end-to-end processing of trade finance transactions and ensure accuracy and compliance with UCP600, URC522, ISBP, ISP98, and URDG758.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations, with exposure to L/Cs, trade loans, and related products, strong Excel/Word skills, and the ability to collaborate

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations, Trade Services, or Documentary Trade within the banking sector.
• Practical exposure to Import & Export L/Cs, documentary collections, trade loans, guarantees, and related trade products.
• Knowledge of international trade rules and practices including UCP600, URC522, ISBP, ISP98, URDG758.
• Familiarity with trade compliance requirements, sanctions screening, AML, and financial crime risk controls.
• Experience participating in system implementation, enhancement, or UAT projects would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end processing and checking of trade finance transactions, including Import and Export Letters of Credit, amendments, imports/exports bills, trade loans, banker's acceptances, shipping guarantees, and standby LC/GLCs.
• Ensure all trade transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.
• Prepare and review trade-related MIS reports, customer outstanding reports, banking returns, and other operational reports.
• Participate in trade systems projects, including requirement gathering, UAT, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members on transaction processing, trade products, and system usage.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Customer Service, Compliance, Business teams) to support operational efficiency and service delivery.
