Job summary

Jardine Engineering Corporation (JEC) in Hong Kong seeks a capable Logistics and Procurement Operations Support professional to coordinate daily logistics, plan local and overseas deliveries, and manage shipping documentation. The role liaises with business units, suppliers, freight forwarders, and warehouses to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Qualifications

• University degree in supply chain management, business administration or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in logistics and shipping operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (MS D365) and TradeLink declarations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily logistics activities for projects and operational requirements.
• Plan and arrange local and overseas deliveries with freight forwarders, transport companies, couriers, and warehouse operators.
• Handle full set of shipping documents, ensuring completeness and filing.
• Resolve delivery issues, delays, damaged goods, and logistics-related exceptions.
• Liaise with business units, suppliers, warehouses, freight forwarders, and transport providers to ensure smooth logistics execution.
• Assist in cost optimization initiatives relating to transportation and logistics services.

Job description

Job Purpose

To support the daily logistics and procurement operations of the Company by coordinating shipment and delivery activities, maintaining accurate logistics documentation, and ensuring compliance with procurement procedures. The role serves as a key liaison between Business Units, suppliers, freight forwarders, local logistics partners, warehouses to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Operations

• Coordinate daily logistics activities for projects and operational requirements.
• Plan and arrange local and overseas deliveries with freight forwarders, transport companies, couriers, and warehouse operators.
• Handling full set of shipping documents and ensure it is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
• Resolve delivery issues, shipment delays, damaged goods, and logistics-related exceptions.
• Liaise with Business Units, suppliers, warehouses, freight forwarders, and transport providers to ensure smooth logistics execution.
• Support the selection of suitable logistics partners based on cost, service level, lead time, and operational requirements.
• Assist in cost optimization initiatives relating to transportation and logistics services.

Procurement Operations Support

• Support vendor registration and onboarding processes in accordance with company policies.
• Support Procurement Managers in sourcing activities for routine purchases & RFQ.
• Support procurement administration activities in eProcurement and ERP systems.
• Ensure procurement records are maintained accurately and in compliance with company procedures.

Continuous Improvement

• Support continuous improvement initiatives for logistics and procurement workflows.
• Assist in system data maintenance and documentation control.
• Participate in process enhancement projects related to procurement and logistics operations.

Desired Candidate should:

• Possess a recognised university graduate in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration and any other relevant discipline;
• At least 5 years of working experience in logistics and shipping operations;
• Possess good knowledge of inventory management system, like ERP (MS D365) and familiar in Tradelink declaration;
• Be a fast learner with good working attitude, demonstrate patience when dealing with internal stakeholders, and embrace change;
• Able to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and demonstrate strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail;
• Be highly organised, reliable, and resourceful with strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
• Be computer literate with knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; and
• Be proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese.
