Job summary

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) is seeking a strategic sourcing and contract management expert. This role will manage fuel procurement operations and market intelligence activities, ensuring timely delivery and availability of feedstock.

The ideal candidate must have a degree in Supply Chain Management or related fields, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in both English and Chinese are required.

Job description

This role focuses on strategic sourcing and contract management for fuel, feedstock and energy commodities, alongside fuel procurement operations and market intelligence activities.

Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management

Develop sourcing strategies for fuel, feedstock and energy commodities.

Support long-term fuel supply studies and sourcing diversification initiatives.

Conduct tendering exercises, commercial evaluations and commercial negotiations.

Administer term contracts and monitor supplier contractual compliance.

Fuel Procurement Operations

Coordinate fuel procurement planning with internal stakeholders.

Ensure timely delivery of feedstock and maintain stock availability.

Track energy market developments and conduct business research.

Analyze market trends and recommend procurement strategies.

Prepare reports to support management meetings.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and value creation initiatives.

The Person

Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Energy Studies, Business or related discipline

At least 5 years in fuel, energy, commodity or feedstock procurement

Proven capability in business research, forecasting, scenario modelling and financial analysis

Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills with attention to details

Hands-on experience with SAP and business intelligence tools, advanced analytical and data management skills

Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese)

Proficiency in PC applications such as Access, Excel and Word

Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently

Occasional business travel is required
