Job summary

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) invites experienced Building Services professionals to join our project team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on supervising and driving E&M and fire services projects across residential, commercial, and data centre developments, ensuring safety, quality and contractual compliance.

The appointees will participate in full project lifecycle including tendering, procurement, construction management, testing & commissioning, handover and commercial

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in E&M, Building Services or Fire Services projects.
• Experience with E&M, ELV and FS installations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate E&M projects from tender award through construction, testing & commissioning, handover and final account.
• Assist in the delivery of FS projects and related statutory requirements.
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety, manpower allocation and subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project programmes and contractual requirements.
• Plan and coordinate site activities, material deliveries, inspections, testing, commissioning, defect rectification and handover processes.
• Liaise with clients/ developers, consultants, main contractors, utility companies, Government authorities, subcontractors and suppliers on technical, contractual and site matters.
• Review drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities, technical submission, material submission and method statements.
• Prepare and follow up technical queries, RFIs, progress reports, project correspondence and management reports.
• Participate in tendering and procurement activities, including quotation invitations, tender evaluation, bid analysis and supplier negotiations.
• Assist in cost control, variation quotations, progress payments, project financial monitoring, claims administration and final account settlement.
• Maintain proper records of project progress, inspections, commissioning results, contract correspondence and commercial documentation.
• Support statutory inspections, authority submissions, annual inspections and compliance requirements for E&M, ELV and FS systems.
• Identify project risks and coordinate recovery actions to mitigate programme delays, technical issues and commercial exposure.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Project Engineer (Building Services / E&M and Fire Services)

We are seeking experienced Building Services professionals to join our project team. The successful candidates will primarily to supervise and drive E&M and fire services (FS) projects, ensuring strictly alignment with safety, quality and compliance with both contractual and statutory requirements across a portfolio of residential, commercial and data centre developments.

The appointees will participate in the full project lifecycle, including tendering, procurement, construction management, testing & commissioning, project handover and commercial administration.

The Role:

The Person:

Bachelor Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines

Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in E&M, Building Services or Fire Services projects

Candidates with more extensive project management experience may be considered for Senior Project Engineer appointment

Practical experience in E&M installations, ELV systems, Building Services coordination and site supervision is preferred

Exposure to FS installations, testing & commissioning, annual inspections or FSD compliance requirements will be a definite advantage

Familiar with project coordination, contract administration, procurement, testing & commissioning and construction documentation

Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contractual documents

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Familiar with BIM, AutoCAD operation, CSD and CBWD preparation.

Self-motivated, responsible and capable of managing multiple projects and competing priorities.

Willing to conduct site visits and attend meetings at construction sites when required.
