Job summary

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) invites applications for the role of Assistant Engineer (Quality Assurance – Network Quality). You will support QA activities across the underground gas network, investigate defects, and analyze failure causes.

Responsibilities include supplier evaluation, factory audits, VR-based competency checks for pipeline workers, collaboration with vendors on AI/automation, and conducting experiments to deliver practical improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing/Materials Engineering or relevant disciplines.
• 1-2 years’ relevant working experience; fresh graduates considered.
• Experience with Feishu, PowerApps and Power Automate preferred.
• Strong English and Chinese communication; team collaboration imperative.

Assist in quality assurance, failure root cause investigation and analysis on defects found in materials used in the underground gas network

Assist in factory audit and pipeline material supplier evaluation

Evaluate competency of pipeline workers using Virtual Reality means

Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to customize and implement AI/robotic/automation solutions.

Design and execute engineering experiments to create workable solutions

Carry out quality improvement projects using up-to-date technologies, technical research and prepare technical drawings

Analyse data, present analysis results and project solutions to supervisors

Assist in the operation of the HOKLAS accredited Polyethylene Test Laboratory

The Person:

Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing / Materials Engineering or relevant disciplines

1- 2 years’ relevant working experience. Fresh graduate will also be considered

Experience working with Feishu, PowerApps and Power Automate is preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, detail-oriented and able to work as a team player

Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office and hands-on experience using Generative AI platforms to optimize workflows and analyze data is beneficial

Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua is beneficial
