Job summary

Shenwan Hongyuan Securities (H.K.) Limited in Hong Kong is seeking an Associate-Vice President to lead OTC Operations & Settlement, ensuring accurate and timely settlement of OTC trades while coordinating with middle office, treasury and counterparties to mitigate operational risk.

The role requires at least 3 years in FICC/OTC operations, strong Excel skills (VBA/Python/SQL a plus), and fluent English and Mandarin. We offer a 5-day week, a competitive remuneration package and fringe benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree holder with minimum 3 years of experience in FICC/OTC operations, settlement, or middle office within a bank, broker, or asset manager.
• Good knowledge of OTC products (Bonds, Repo, Structure notes, FX Derivatives) and their life cycle.
• Familiarity with different clearing centres (e.g. CMU, Clearstream and DTCC).
• Experience with fund operations (subscription/redemption) and funding processes.
• Proficient in MS Excel; knowledge of VBA, Python, or SQL is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, risk awareness, and ability to work under pressure.
• Proactive mindset and willing to take ownership.
• Team-focused, being able to take up more responsibilities as needed.
• Good communication skills in English and Mandarin; additional languages are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily settlement and clearing of OTC trades, including fixed-income products, structure notes, FX and OTC options.
• Ensure all trades are confirmed, matched, and settled accurately within market deadlines.
• Monitor settlement status and resolve discrepancies or fails in a timely manner.
• Keep track of product life cycle schedule and initiate settlement instructions accordingly.
• Proactively follow up with counterparties, clearinghouses, and brokers on pending settlements and issues.
• Maintain strong relationships with external parties for efficient communication and issue resolution.
• Process fund subscriptions and redemptions; prepare and submit funding transfer requests to Treasury or Payments teams.
• Manage daily collateral movements, settlements and reconciliations; validate and issue margin calls.
• Perform daily reconciliations of trade blotters, positions; prepare and distribute settlement and failing trade reports; support month-end and regulatory reporting.
