Job description

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority welcomes exceptional talent with a passion to realise the vision and mission of making the West Kowloon Cultural District a prime local and international destination for arts, culture and entertainment.

This position is responsible for leading the fundraising and development effort for WestK Performing Arts. This role will focus on expanding donor and sponsor networks, cultivating and soliciting major gift donors, overseeing membership programs, and ensuring alignment with WKCDA's performing arts programs.

You will be responsible for:

• developing and implementing strategies to expand the pool of major donors and sponsors, supporting WKCDA's performing arts programs and capital projects;

• working closely with Head of Development (Performing Arts) to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and a major gift donor pipeline to achieve fundraising targets;

• monitoring fundraising metrics, analyze performance data, and prepare regular reports on progress, trends, and revenue forecasts;

• leading the cultivation and solicitation of new sponsors and donors (through philanthropic angles) to support its programs and activities;

• overseeing individual giving, fundraising events, membership, and donor relations;

• supervising the creation of sponsorship proposals, launching the new membership programs and related collateral; collaborating closely with the Performing Arts team and other departments to align strategies and distilling unique selling points;

• leading and guiding subordinates to enhance team efficiency and achieve fundraising targets;

• forging strong relationships with internal key stakeholders, including but not restricted to the Performing Arts teams, and Marketing, Branding, and Partnership Department to gain programme knowledge, develop adequate pitching narratives and identify funding opportunities;

• assisting with budget tracking, revenue projections, and compliance for development activities;

• overseeing data management for sponsorships, memberships, and major gifts, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations; and

• performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by the Authority.

You should:

• possess a recognised university degree in Business or a related discipline;

• have at least 10 years of relevant development, sponsorship and fundraising experience, including at least 8 years in a supervisory or senior role. Experience in arts and cultural organisations would be an advantage;

• have a proven track record of raising funds from corporations or high-net-worth groups;

• have experience and good interpersonal skills in interacting with large-scale business corporations;

• have a strong understanding of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship best practices;

• have outstanding presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills; and

• have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
