Job summary

Avenir Group in Hong Kong seeks a senior architecture lead for high-frequency trading systems. You will drive design of scalable, multi-market, multi-asset platforms and guide the development team toward robust, low-latency solutions.

The role covers data feed handling, order routing, risk control, and disaster recovery, with emphasis on distributed systems, performance tuning, and strategic technology choices to sustain growth in fast-paced markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above from a reputable university, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering, or related STEM fields.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in system development/architecture.
• Proficiency in at least one high-performance language such as C/C++, with solid fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Deep understanding of Linux, network protocols, concurrency models, memory management, and I/O models.
• Hands-on experience in designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven methodology and practical experience in performance tuning, high-availability architecture, disaster recovery.
• Strong business abstraction capability and systematic thinking, able to make sound architectural trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall architecture design and evolution of high-frequency trading systems, ensuring long-term scalability to support multi-market, multi-strategy, and multi-asset operations.
• Plan and design core system modules including market data feed handling, order routing, risk control, matching engine simulation, account management, and clearing.
• Design unified abstraction and access frameworks for multi-exchange / multi-chain / multi-asset environments, promoting system componentization, standardization, and service-oriented architecture.
• Design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions to ensure system usability and controllable risk during extreme market conditions.
• Establish system-level monitoring and alerting frameworks for real-time observation of latency, throughput, error rates, risk metrics, and other critical indicators.
• Guide the development team in high-quality implementation and continuous refactoring, establishing coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies in high-performance computing, distributed systems, middleware, etc., and evaluate their application value within trading systems.
