Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd is seeking a senior architect to lead the end-to-end design and delivery of post-trade systems, covering clearing, settlement, and collateral management. You will manage a team of developers, drive technical excellence, and ensure secure, scalable solutions across the full software lifecycle, including production support.

The role requires 10+ years in system design, strong Java expertise, and leadership experience in complex stakeholder environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in system design and development; leadership experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proven track record delivering mission-critical systems with complex stakeholder environments.
• Hands-on Java engineering with API design, concurrency, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and system design for high-availability post-trade platforms.
• Take ownership of delivery across the SDLC and manage cross-team coordination.
• Drive multi-workstream delivery and resource planning with internal and external teams.
• Provide engineering leadership on microservices, containers, messaging, and cloud-native patterns.
• Oversee production support, incident management and continuous improvement.
