Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited is seeking a senior architecture lead to design and deliver mission-critical post-trade systems, covering clearing, settlement and collateral management. You will manage a team of developers, drive technical excellence, and ensure secure, scalable solutions across the full SDLC.

The role requires strong Java engineering expertise, a background in microservices and cloud-native patterns, plus hands-on leadership in high-availability environments.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in system design and development.
• Minimum 5 years in a management/technical leadership role.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proven track record delivering mission-critical systems with complex stakeholder environments.
• Hands-on expertise in Java engineering, API design, concurrency, performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and system design for high-availability post-trade platforms and services.
• Own delivery across the SDLC, coordinating resources across internal teams and vendors.
• Drive multi-stream delivery by planning, prioritising, and aligning engineering efforts.
• Provide engineering leadership on modern backend practices and enforce coding, security, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust designs.
• Oversee production support, incident management, and continuous improvement for stability and performance.
