The main role entails engaging with clients, comprehensively understanding their requirements, and representing the company in building a strong communication bridge that fosters mutual trust and collaboration. Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
Oversee mechanical engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budgets, and timelines
Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with company objectives and industry best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance to optimise engineering processes
Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
Identify and manage technical risks, implementing mitigation strategies to prevent delays and cost overruns
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality
Maintain liaison with clients, stakeholders, and external partners to communicate project progress and resolve technical challenges
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the engineering department
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline; further professional qualifications or certifications are advantageous
Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a management or senior technical leadership role
Proven expertise in project management, including experience leading complex mechanical engineering projects
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and quality standards
Experience in team leadership, staff development, and performance management
Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical acumen
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Proficiency in relevant engineering software and design tools
Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred
