Job summary

Hopewell Hotel in Hong Kong seeks an experienced restaurant leader to oversee daily restaurant operations, marketing initiatives, and guest experience. You will drive profitability, supervise staff, and collaborate with the kitchen and events teams to deliver exceptional service.

The role requires a Diploma in Hospitality, strong English/Cantonese, and at least 5 years in a similar capacity. Mandarin is a plus; a 5-day work week and employee benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Hospitality or related discipline.
• Holder of food hygiene course certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese; Mandarin is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the restaurant is ready for service before each meal period.
• Communicate with Kitchen In-charge for daily specials and Chef’s recommendations.
• Act as Business Manager and Marketing Specialist in menu write-up for private functions and events.
• Coordinate with Events & Catering team for banquets in the Restaurant.
• Access and improve profitability; manage assets and stock; control costs and wastage.
• Lead and resolve staff conflicts; provide coaching and training as needed.
• Develop marketing, advertising, and public relations programs to attract customers.
• Handle guest complaints per hotel standards and guidelines.
• Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned by superiors.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the restaurant is ready for service before each meal period
• Communicate with Kitchen In-charge for daily special and Chef’s recommendation
• Act as Business Manager and Marketing Specialist in menu write up for private function rooms, VIP and for special guest request
• Communicate with the Events & Catering team for banquets hold in the Restaurant
• Access and improve profitability
• Protect company’s assets, oversee outlet inventory - stock control, ordering supplies and manage stock, avoid wastage and maintain cost, control outlet expenses
• Solve employees’ conflicts; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees
• Promote and market the business, make improvements to the running of the business and developing the restaurant
• Attract customers by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs; evaluating program results, identify and track changing demands
• Handle guest complaints and concerns according to the hotel standard and guideline
• Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned by the superiors

Requirements:

• Diploma holder or above in Hospitality or related disciplines
• Holder of food hygiene course certificate
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity
• Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese, fluent in Mandarin is preferable
• Proven customer experience skillset and ability to teach that skillset to others
• Knowledge in food and wine
• Proficient in POS, MS Office and Chinese Word Processing
• Familiar with F&B management software such as POS and TMS
