Job summary

The Henderson Hospitality Limited, behind The Henderson venues, is seeking a Resident DJ to curate Afro House–driven sets at Peridot and contribute to themed music nights. You will design playlists, collaborate with management on events, and mentor junior DJs to elevate the venue's entertainment offering.

Ideal candidates bring deep Afro House knowledge, fluency with professional DJ equipment, and strong reliability.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Afro House Music, including sub-genres like Soulful House, Afro Tech, and Tribal House.
• Knowledge of how to blend Afro House with Afrobeats, Amapiano, or Deep House when needed.
• Familiarity with professional DJ equipment (Pioneer CDJs, mixers, controllers).
• To build relationship with regular patrons and team members, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Reliability, punctuality, and clear communication with event organizers.

Responsibilities

• Curating and performing regular DJ sets at Peridot, delivering high-quality music programming aligned with the venue’s concept and brand positioning.
• Developing Afro House themed music nights, including ambient Afro House events to create a unique entertainment identity.
• Designing music playlists and sound experiences that enhance guest atmosphere and complement the bar’s hospitality offering.
• Collaborating with management to plan and execute special music events and guest DJ nights.
• Training and mentoring junior or supporting DJs, sharing Afro House knowledge.
• Supporting promotional activities and events with music-led initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Curating and performing regular DJ sets at Peridot, delivering high-quality music programming aligned with the venue’s concept and brand positioning.

Developing and introducing Afro house themed music nights, including “Afro House Vibes” events, to create a unique entertainment identity for the venue.

Designing music playlists and sound experiences that enhance the overall guest atmosphere and complement the bar’s premium hospitality offering.

Collaborating with management to plan and execute special music events, guest DJ nights, and entertainment programs.

Training and mentoring junior or supporting DJs where appropriate, sharing his expertise in Afro house and related music genres.

Supporting promotional activities and special events organised by the venue, including music-led marketing initiatives and themed nightlife experiences.
