Job summary

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) is seeking an experienced Building Services Inspector to supervise Electrical, ELV and Fire Services works on site across residential, commercial, and data centre developments. You will coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress, and support testing, commissioning, and project handover.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or higher in Building Services Engineering and have 3+ years of relevant site experience, with familiarity in OP/FSD/EMSD

Qualifications

• Diploma / Higher Certificate or above in Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant site experience in E&M, FS or building services projects.
• Familiar with site coordination, construction workflow, testing & commissioning and project handover requirements.
• Experience in OP inspection, FSD inspection, EMSD inspection, energization works or statutory inspection processes will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Station on site and supervise daily Electrical, ELV and FS installation works.
• Monitor site progress and ensure works are executed in accordance with approved programmes and contract requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, workers and logistics to ensure smooth site operations.
• Arrange and attend material deliveries, MOS inspections and site inspections.
• Coordinate builders’ works, interfacing trades and service installations with main contractors and consultants.
• Conduct site measurements and maintain accurate site records, progress reports and inspection records.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities, statutory inspections, power energization, FS inspection, OP inspections and project handover.
• Follow up outstanding works, defects lists and rectification programmes.

Assistant/Building Services Inspector (Building Services/E&M and Fire Services)

We are seeking experienced site-based engineering professionals to support the execution of E&M and fire services (FS) projects across residential, commercial and data centre developments.

Reporting to the Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer, the successful candidates will be responsible for day-to-day site management, coordination of subcontractors, monitoring of installation works, testing & commissioning preparation, statutory inspections and project handover activities.

This is a hands-on site position requiring strong coordination, supervision and problem-solving skills.

The Role:

Station on site and supervise daily Electrical, ELV and FS installation works

Monitor site progress and ensure works are executed in accordance with approved programmes and contract requirements

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, workers and logistics to ensure smooth site operations

Arrange and attend material deliveries, material-on-site (MOS) inspections and site inspections

Coordinate builders’ works, interfacing trades and service installations with main contractors and consultants

Conduct site measurements and maintain accurate site records, progress reports and inspection records

Assist in testing and commissioning activities, statutory inspections, power energization, FS inspection, Occupation Permit (OP) inspections and project handover

Follow up outstanding works, defects lists and rectification programmes

Prepare site sketches, mark-up drawings, progress photographs and work completion records

Assist in preparation of variation measurement records and site supporting documents

Attend site coordination meetings and communicate with clients, consultants, main contractors and project stakeholders

Monitor workmanship, safety performance and compliance with statutory and contractual requirements

Identify site issues and escalated matters to Project Engineer(s) for timely resolution

Support emergency site activities and critical project milestones when required

The Person:

Diploma / Higher Certificate or above in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines

Minimum 3 years' relevant site experience in E&M, FS or Building Services projects

Experience in residential development, commercial projects or major construction projects is preferred

Familiar with site coordination, construction workflow, testing & commissioning and project handover requirements

Experiences in OP inspection, FSD inspection, EMSD inspection, energization works or statutory inspection processes will be an advantage

Knowledge of FS installations and annual inspection requirements is desirable

Able to interpret drawings, specifications and construction documents

Good communication and coordination skills

Good command of spoken Cantonese and basic written English and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Holder of Safety Green Card and Registered Electrical Worker Licence.
