Job summary

Venture seeks a Principal System Analyst, IT (Application) to lead the design, development, and support of in-house applications across the group. You will drive the technology strategy, govern architecture, and ensure delivery aligns with business needs from our Singapore HQ.

You will lead a team of developers/analysts, translate requirements into scalable solutions, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape the roadmap and automation opportunities.

We’re looking to add a Principal System Analyst, IT (Application) in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.

As a Principal System Analyst, IT (Application), you will:

Lead and drive our digitalization journey through the design, development, enhancement, and support of customized in-house applications used across the Venture Group. As the technical lead for the Application Development team, this individual will steer a team of developers, define the technology strategy and solution architecture, and ensure delivery aligns with business needs.

• Define and strategies the technology stack and technical roadmap for the Application Development team, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and long-term business objectives.
• Act as the solution architect for group-wide applications, owning end-to-end solution design, architecture reviews, technical governance, and best-practice standards across the development lifecycle.
• Engage senior stakeholders and business leaders to translate strategic priorities into an actionable delivery roadmap, and provide technical leadership on complex, high-impact initiatives.
• Take end-to-end ownership of complex, high-priority projects and enhancements, driving scope, technical decisions, and delivery outcomes with full autonomy and accountability.
• Lead, mentor, and build the capability of a team of developers and analysts, setting direction, allocating work, and raising engineering standards through coaching, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing.
• Partner with business leaders and process owners to shape requirements, identify automation and optimisation opportunities, and translate operational needs into a prioritised, value-driven solution portfolio.
• Architect and lead the development of customised in-house applications and group-wide digital solutions, personally driving the most technically challenging components.
• Govern the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation, enforcing quality through design and code reviews.
• Serve as the final technical escalation point for complex production issues, leading root-cause analysis and directing systemic fixes that improve reliability and performance.
• Establish and enforce documentation and technical-specification standards across the team, and drive alignment on shared architecture and reusable components across cross-functional, group-wide initiatives.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, system analysis, or application support, including at least 3 years in a technical lead, team leadership, or solution architect capacity.
• Proven team leadership experience, leading and mentoring a team of developers/analysts, allocating work, assuring quality, and driving delivery to meet business needs.
• Demonstrated ability to act as solution architect, defining the application technology stack and technical standards, and owning end-to-end architecture across design patterns, integration, scalability, and security.
• Strong hands-on application development using Microsoft technologies: ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Framework, ASP.NET Blazor, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with any of the following is an added advantage: .NET Entity Framework, Node.js & React.js, Web API / RESTful services.
• Experience in cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes); hands-on deployment or support of containerised applications is an advantage.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and version control (e.g., Git).
• Strong leadership and team-management skills — able to steer a team of developers and analyst, set direction, resolve conflicts, and drive activities to meet business needs.
• Strategic and architectural mindset — able to define the technology stack and roadmap, make sound design decisions, and translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions, balancing innovation, cost, and risk.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills, with the ability to influence confidently at all levels and prepare quality documentation and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Relevant certifications in software development, database management, cloud platforms, or application security would be advantageous.
• Exposure to manufacturing, enterprise operations, workflow automation, or digital transformation projects would be advantageous.
