Job summary

Venture Corporation Limited in Singapore seeks a Specialist, Commodities to support the Global Commodity Team from its HQ in Ang Mo Kio. You will source and qualify global suppliers, drive cost reduction, and analyze strategic commodity trends to inform pricing and supplier decisions.

The role requires a degree in SCM or equivalent with 5 years in electronics manufacturing, strong negotiation and MS Office skills, and familiarity with SAP is a plus.

We’re looking to add a Specialist, Commodities in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.

As a Specialist, Commodities you will:

Responsible for providing support to the Global Commodity Team including performing vendor management, driving the commodity total cost reduction program, financial and business analysis of global commodity strategic reports, execution of global commodity strategies, keeping up-to-date on key commodity information and assisting in regional supply chain management related activities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform vendor management by sourcing and qualifying global suppliers
• Drive the commodity total cost reduction program
• Financial and business analysis, as well as presentation of global commodity strategic reports
• Execution of global commodity strategies
• Keep up-to-date on key commodity information such as size and scope of commodity trends and market conditions through market research
• Maintain Suppliers Quality Management system
• Assist in regional supply chain management related activities
• Review contract pricing with supplier for management approval
• Negotiate for low cost pricing for global commodity
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Company

Requirements:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent with 5 years' relevant experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, preferably in contract manufacturing.
• Experience in commodities such as switches, antenna, sensor module, cable harness assembly and connectors
• Good understanding of the current market trends.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred
• Resourceful and analytical with positive working attitude
• Able to work independently under minimum supervision and tight dateline
• Able to lead in group discussions, as well as be a good team player
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work with all levels of management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office( Word and Excel)
