Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree holder or above.
• Strong communication in English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
• Experience in settlement/ post-trade operations is preferred, with 1–2 years in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth daily operation of the department.
• Handle equity, fixed-income, structured notes and fund post-trade settlement and fund processing.
• Maintain internal controls and comply with external regulations.
• Perform reconciliation among bank, custodian and in-house records for cash and stock.
• Participate in ad hoc projects for new products or system enhancements.
• Liaise with brokers and counterparties on settlement issues.
• Provide administrative support such as data input and filing.
• Perform UAT for new projects and systems.
• Gain experience in a sizable international institution and knowledge of major settlement practices.
• Understand SWIFT instructions (e.g., MT103, MT54x).
• Work rotating day/night shifts for US stock operations.

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring smoothness in the daily operation of the department
• Handling Equity, Fixed-income, Structured notes and Fund post-trade settlement and fund processing for brokerage activities
• Ensuring the processes are within proper internal control and in compliance with external rules and regulations
• Performing reconciliation among bank, custodian and in-house records for cash and stock
• Participating in ad hoc projects for new products or new system enhancements
• Liaising with brokers and counterparties to follow up for any settlement related issues and enquiries
• Providing administrative and clerical support, such as data input and document filing
• Performing UAT for new projects / New business models / System enhancements
• Have gained adequate experience in working in a sizable international institution knowing all international practices
• Have thorough understanding of the settlement function in major equity markets
• Have knowledge in sending SWIFT format instruction, ex. MT103, MT54x, etc.

Require rotating shifts (day shift and night shift) for US stock operations

• Good communication skills in Putonghua, Cantonese and English (as phone confirmation with banks and counterparties may be required)
• Mastery of MS Office, knowledge of MS Office VBA
• Good team player with adequate inter-personal skills
• Able to work independently and under pressure
• Able to work rotating shifts such as T+1 settlement on US market and have excellent time management skills
• Good problem-solving skills with a strong sense of responsibility

• 1 to 2 years of settlement experience is preferred
