Job summary

CMB Wing Lung Bank Limited is seeking an experienced Manager to oversee Custody Operations (Settlement Processing) in the Asset Custody Department in Hong Kong. The role requires monitoring settlement instructions, authorizing submissions to depositories, and coordinating with sub-custodians to ensure accurate recording of QFII/RQFII transactions.

Ideal candidates bring at least 5 years in securities settlement, with 2+ years as Checker, and familiarity with CCASS, eCMT, Citi Velocity, JPM

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in securities settlement.
• At least 2 years as Checker.
• Familiar with settlement modules of major systems (CCASS, eCMT, Citi Velocity, JPM Markets, Easyway, Xact).
• Knowledge of SWIFT Category 1, 2 & 5 messages preferred.
• Detail oriented, independent thinker with problem solving ability.
• Good communication in Cantonese and English; Putonghua preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client settlement instructions across platforms and systems.
• Check and review recorded settlement instructions in in-house systems.
• Authorize prepared settlement instructions to depositories, sub-custodians and fund houses.
• Deal with sub-custodians on QFII/RQFII processing and recording.
• Review daily/monthly reports before release by systems.
• Respond to enquiries from clients, front office and settlement agents.
• Review audit responses before submission.
• Design and review control reports and external reports.
• Participate in system UAT and test case preparation.
• Maintain training materials, procedures and manuals.
• Handle ad-hoc duties assigned by team head.

Monitor client settlement instructions (both securities, mutual funds and unit trust through different platforms and systems

Check and review recorded clients’ settlement instructions in in-house systems

Check and authorize prepared settlement instructions to central depositories, sub-custodians and fund houses before submission

Deal with sub-custodians on handling QFII and RQFII transaction processing and recording

Review daily and monthly report sets to clients before releasing by systems

Respond enquiries and requests from clients, front office and settlement agents

Review audit request responses to agents before submission

Design and review various control reports and external reports

Participate in system UAT, including test case preparation

Regular review and update training material, procedure and manual

Other ad-hoc duties assigned by team head

Requirements:

5 years of experience in securities settlement, at least 2 years as Checker

Familiar with operating Settlement modules of various settlement systems, including but not limited to CCASS, eCMT, Citi Velocity, JPM Markets, Easyway and Xact

Knowledge of SWIFT Category 1, 2 & 5 messages are preferred

Detail oriented, independent thinking and demonstrate problem solving skill

Able to liaise with internal and external parties to resolve processing issues

Being a good team player and self-motivated

Good communication skills, both Cantonese and English, and Putonghua is also preferred

Proficient in use of MS-Word, MS-Excel, and both Chinese and English typing

Willing to work on shift, public holidays, and inclement weather conditions

Pass Paper 1 of TheLicensing Examinationfor Securities and Futures Intermediaries is preferred

Less experience candidate is welcome, will also be considered for Associate Manager
