Job summary

Glasford Shipping (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an Operations Officer to manage voyage operations for Voyage Charter (VC) and Time Charter (TC) fixtures across oil and gas tanker sectors. You will coordinate with shipowners and port agents to ensure smooth loading, discharge, and compliance with safety standards.

The role requires strong commercial sense, clear communication in English and Chinese (Mandarin preferred), and the ability to work under pressure. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Job description

Manage voyage operations for Voyage Charter (VC) and Time Charter (TC) fixtures involving oil tankers, gas tankers, and other vessel types.

Liaise with shipowners on all vessel-related matters to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.

Contact the shipping agent to ensure the smooth cargo loading and unloading at each port.

Maintain ongoing communication with the Trading Department to proactively identify, assess, and report potential risks in transportation services, providing timely feedback and recommendations.

Handle ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Maritime Studies or related disciplines.
• Strong business and commercial sense, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels across different business units.
• Independent and mature, with good presentation and communication skills, and able to work under pressure.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese (including fluency in Mandarin).
• Immediate availability or a short notice period will be an advantage.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Assistant Operations Officer.
