Job summary

OOCL is seeking a Manager, Network & Cooperation Intra Regional Vessel Planning to drive growth by evaluating demand and pursuing consortium partnerships. You will optimize vessel deployment and liaise with peers for joint services, while conducting financial feasibility studies for new routes and reviewing cost allocations with Finance.

• University graduate in Shipping or Logistics Management, Business Administration or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in shipping and logistics; candidates with less experience may be Deputy Manager.
• Strong analytical skills, numerical sensitivity, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, fast learner and a good team player.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese; Mandarin preferred.
• Proficient in PC skills and MS Office; strong Excel and presentation skills.

Manager, Network & Cooperation Intra Regional Vessel Planning

To explore network growth opportunities by examining demand outlook and identifying potential consortium partnerships and other possible external collaborations

To review and optimize network efficiency and vessel deployment strategies in conjunction with trade requirements

To liaise and negotiate with other shipping lines regarding the service or corridors required for consortium partnerships and joint collaborations in the form of slot charters, exchanges or joint services

To conduct a financial and operational feasibility study of new services, focusing on simulating the profit and loss model for all new services

To review internal system cost allocations and work with Finance for proper slot cost provisions

To perform other ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements:

University graduate in Shipping or Logistics Management, Business Administration or related disciplines

Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in the shipping and logistics industry. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Deputy Manager

Strong analytical skills, sensitivity to figures, and problem-solving abilities are also required

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Self-motivated, proactive, a fast learner and a good team player

Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese, spoken Mandarin is preferred
