Job summary

HKUST invites applications for the Officer (IT) position in the Campus Management Office to support IT operations on campus. The appointee will administer Windows/Linux systems, manage VMs, assist the Cybersecurity Coordinator, and support IT projects including Smart Campus initiatives.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in IT support, system administration and IT operations.
• Proficiency in Windows/Linux systems, Active Directory and cloud platforms.
• Experience in project support and system maintenance within the real estate industry is an advantage.
• Experience in an academic or educational institution is highly desirable.
• Skills in AutoCAD, REVIT, and BIM are preferred.
• Experience with facility management systems and IoT technologies is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Department: Campus Management Office

The Building Maintenance Unit is responsible to manage all aspects of building maintenance with an aim to provide a well-maintained, safe and sustainable environment for all campus users. We are looking for a high calibre candidate to join the IT supporting team. The appointee will be responsible for the following:

• Support Smart Campus project initiatives, working with CMO teams.
• Provide user support by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues for the department.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, servers (Windows and Linux), printers and other IT equipment.
• Administer and monitor virtual machines (VMs) and support the department’s local network devices.
• Assist the Cybersecurity Coordinator (CSC), liaising with ITSO on security compliance.
• Manage software installations and licensing compliance; coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs.
• Perform any responsibilities as assigned by senior management.

Applicants should have a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines with at least 3 years of relevant experience in IT support, system administration and IT operations. Proficiency in Windows/Linux systems, Active Directory and cloud platforms. Experience in project support and system maintenance within the real estate industry is an advantage.
