Job summary

Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre invites applications for IT Technical Officer / IT Assistant (Ref.: H01/2025/052) on a fixed-term basis in Hong Kong. Candidates should hold a degree in Computer Science or IT-related disciplines and have experience with Windows OS and M365.

Certification like MCSE/CCNA/CCNP is advantageous; duties include cybersecurity deployment, PC setup, web maintenance, and support for PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Fluency in Chinese and English is preferred.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or IT-related disciplines.
• MCSE/CCNA/CCNP certificates are advantageous.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
• Strong written and spoken Chinese and English.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of cross-boundary data protection within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
• Deploy cybersecurity hardware and software solutions to protect data.
• PC installation and maintenance; configure end-user devices.
• Setup and configuration of Windows OS and Microsoft 365.
• Maintain the company webpage; familiarity with PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Conduct program testing, system testing and user acceptance.
• Provide Zoom meeting support; inventory management.
• Assist in procurement processes; assist in routine laboratory tasks.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Job description

Applications are invited for appointment as IT Technical Officer / IT Assistant (Ref.: H01/2025/052), on a fixed-term basis.

Applicants should possess a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology-related disciplines. Holding an MCSE, CCNA, or CCNP certificate would be an advantage. Preferably, candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

They should have a good command of written and spoken Chinese and English; good coordination, organizational and problem-solving skills; be highly motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Duties

• Have the knowledge of the Standard Contract for the Cross-boundary Flow of Personal Information within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Mainland, Hong Kong)
• Practical knowledge and experience in deploying cybersecurity hardware and software solutions to protect sensitive data
• PC installation & maintenance
• Setup and configuration of end-user computer hardware, software and devices
• Good knowledge in Windows OS and M365
• Maintain Company web page
• Familiar with programming languages, including PHP, HTML, CSS and javascript
• Conduct program testing, system testing and user acceptance
• Zoom meeting support
• Inventory management
• Support the procurement process
• Assist in handling routine laboratory tasks to ensure a safe and clean working environment
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and maybe a written test as well.
