Job summary
HKU SPACE's Information Technology Services Unit seeks an Assistant IT Officer to assist the IT Manager in ensuring sufficient IT facilities for teaching and learning across the School.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in IT-related disciplines with 1+ year of experience, or an Associate Degree/Higher Diploma with 3+ years. Skills in Microsoft server/desktop OS management, Hyper-V, software deployment, and SQL database administration are desirable. 2-year contract with benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT-related disciplines with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Alternative: Associate Degree/Higher Diploma with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Skills in Microsoft server & desktop OS management, Hyper-V & cloud services, software deployment & control, and SQL Database administration are required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Windows Learner AD policies for all students and teachers’ accounts.
- Monitor usage and performance of desktop resources, server hardware and system software in all learning centres.
- Install and maintain software applications according to teaching and learning needs.
- Keep updated system images with patches for tutors and learners.
- Assist in desktop PC upgrades according to the maintenance cycle.
- Manage the contractors outsourced to the maintenance cycle.
