Job summary

Conners Consulting Limited in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Merchant Acquisition and Relationship Manager to identify and recruit quality merchants, act as the main contact for a portfolio, and drive revenue through cross-selling financial and platform products.

You will negotiate contracts, support campaigns, monitor performance, and work with marketing, product, and technical teams to ensure smooth payment flows and successful activations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3 to 8+ years of relevant experience in account management, sales, e-commerce, banking, fintech, or payment acquiring.
• Familiarity with card acceptance flows, payment gateway integrations, and regulatory/compliance standards.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset for reviewing data and driving growth strategies.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese / Putonghua).

Responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and sign up new quality merchants, retail partners, or service providers.
• Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of merchants, handling contract negotiations, promotional offers, and day-to-day operational support.
• Drive revenue by cross-selling financial or platform products such as SME banking accounts, merchant financing, installment payment plans, or receivable loans.
• Track merchant usage, transaction frequency, and sales metrics to propose engagement or activation strategies.
• Coordinate with marketing, product, and technical integration teams to launch co-marketing campaigns and ensure smooth payment or service flows.
• Conduct competitor analysis and monitor industry trends to spot new market opportunities.
