Job summary

ECU Worldwide (Hong Kong) Limited seeks a Manager, Commercial – Hong Kong and Macau to lead tariff creation and maintenance for LCL, FCL, and export/import services. You will manage cost and selling targets, coordinate with carriers, and ensure accurate rate data in the Rate Engine.

The role involves building relations with ocean freight carriers, monitoring market trends, preparing rate summaries, and circulating rate sheets to overseas and GCA offices.

Qualifications

• Min 3-4 years’ solid experience in freight forwarding industry
• Having good connection with ocean carriers
• Team player with strong communication, interpersonal skill and networking capability
• Proactive, self-motivated, able to work independently, Detail Minded
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong command both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Chinese
• Good computer literacy (Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relations with ocean freight carriers
• Provide updated information within network on carriers’ situation, i.e. blank sailing program, new service and changes in ocean surcharges
• Procure the competitive rates with carriers for assigned trades
• Upload the rates contract on Rate Engine
• Prepare rate summary sheet as per request
• Check online rates and purchase the space
• Circulate the rate sheets to overseas offices, GCA offices (related sales & operations team) on timely manner
• Attend daily FAK rate enquiries
• Attend RFQ/Tender
• Co-ordinate with carriers and internal party for capacity/space issue
• Co-ordinate with the sub-regions on volume/equipment projections so as to secure space/equipment guarantee with respective carriers.
• Manage seasonal capacity requirements e.g. Chinese New Year, National Day holidays, peak seasons

Job description

TARIFF for LCL, T/S, WPRD (South China), Nomination through tariff- Ownership for creating and maintenance based on current pricing @ origin, freight and destination (under E2E & Rebate system). Managing COST & SELLING.

TARIFF for IMPORT & MCC - Ownership for creating and maintenance based on current pricing @ origin, freight and destination (under E2E & Rebate system). Managing COST & SELLING.

DAILY FCL BUYING TARIFF – Communicating with procurement and other local arrangements to maintain Daily Spread Sheet (Google Spread Sheet) which could be shared to OP/Management/Sales.

SALES TARIFF – Provide Daily SALES TARIFF (LCL/FCL/EXPORT/IMPORT) to all sales.

GLOBAL SERVICE GUIDE- Follow global service guide to define routing on t/s volumes across all hub stations (to guide our sales team).

COMPETITION & MARKET INTELLIGENCE – Market intelligence is essential on daily basis to know and compare our competitors on their direct services, carriers, routings and their current tariffs.

OVERSEAS COMMUNICATIONS FOR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS – Standardize tariffs for addressing Over-weight, over-size, non-stackable, palletization, packaging etc.

SALES ENQUIRIES, CUSTOMER ENQUIRIES & OPERATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS.

External business relationships with carriers and customers as per leadership guidance.

ACTUAL OVERSEAS DESTINATON CHARGES & WAREHOUSE DETAILS – Maintain master file to manage current destination charges against all TLs (Rebates and under E2E).

Maintain and regularly update costing & pricing database for all businesses

Ensure high integrity and accuracy of all rates stored in internal database; record all rates and rate updates timely

Support new product price calculation and data management

Build & maintain good relationships with the carriers as well as with the entire team to make them understand the needs and objectives.
