Job summary

The Bank of East Asia (BEA) seeks an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead Data Centre operations and Production Control in Hong Kong. You will direct planning, ensure day-to-day stability, and drive continuous improvement to lower costs while maintaining service quality.

Role requires a degree in CS or equivalent, 10+ years IT experience, and at least 3 years in a managerial role, with English and Chinese proficiency. PMP/ITIL are a plus; 7x24 support oversight is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years of IT experience with leadership exposure.
• At least 3 years in a managerial position.
• Experience in scalable, mission-critical IT infrastructure (network, storage, high availability).
• Experience implementing IT best practices.
• Experience managing a 7x24 support team.
• PMP or ITIL certification is an advantage.
• Proficient in English and Chinese (Cantonese + Mandarin).

• Initiate training programs to develop staff skills.
• Perform duties as directed by supervisor.
• Adhere to regulations, risk control guidelines and integrity standards.

• Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and controlling the Data Centre operations & Production Control
• Ensure stability of day-to-day processes & activities
• Scrutinize & improve continuously to achieve improved service at reduced costs
• Manage the IT Service Level for internal users
• Manage the process of IT Operations, Production Control and Incident Management
• Manage physical security control of the data centres
• Maintain the Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan and conduct the DR drill
• Monitor the service quality of IT Operations & Production Control & ensure they have strictly followed the standard operating procedures
• Initiate training programs to develop & improve the skills of staff
• Perform any other duties as directed by supervisor
• Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity; and
• Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; OR
• Preferably over 10 years' of related IT experience covering the following:
• At least 3 years in managerial position
• Solid knowledge and experience in maintaining scalable and mission critical IT infrastructure with network, storage, high availability and resilience
• Experience of IT best practices implementation
• Solid experience in managing a 7x24 support team
• Holder of PMP or ITIL Manager certification is an advantage
• Proficient in spoken & written English and Chinese (Cantonese + Mandarin)
