Job summary

Jane Street in Hong Kong is offering an IT Operations internship that pairs you with full-time mentors to work on real-world projects. You’ll learn by doing, building and configuring Windows/Linux devices, and supporting the Windows domain infrastructure.

Interns gain hands-on exposure to networking, scripting (PowerShell/Bash) and system administration, with training and collaboration across teams. Strong English and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Available to work 40 hours per week in person in our Hong Kong office (approx. 8:30–17:30).
• Knowledgeable of computer hardware components and how they interact.
• Familiar with the Windows operating system.
• Interested in networking, programming or system administration.
• Eager to help people and solve problems with a clear communication style.
• Reliable team player with a proactive attitude.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and ask questions.
• Able to deconstruct technical problems and document solutions.
• Some scripting experience (PowerShell or Bash) is a plus.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist IT Operations Engineers with real-world projects and support tasks.
• Build and configure Windows and Linux devices and support Windows domain infra.
• Monitor systems and help optimize workflows using scripting.
• Develop technical documentation and user guides.
• Collaborate with mentors and other interns on initiatives.
