Job summary

The Independent Schools Foundation Academy is seeking an Inclusive Education Aide to support a Primary School student as part of Li Ren Center. The role involves in-class and non-structured-time support, building strong relationships, and helping the student communicate needs.

• Adequate knowledge in inclusive education and training in specialized learning and behavior intervention (e.g., ABA, English/Chinese learning intervention).
• Experience with students with diverse learning needs in a school setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, teachers and parents.
• Flexibility and adaptability to adjust support intensity in class.
• Empathic understanding, hardworking and patient.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Putonghua) preferred.

We are now seeking a self-driven, passionate and experienced candidate to fill the following position:

Li Ren Center (立人中心) – Wellbeing and Inclusion. Li Ren works holistically to support students with their learning and social emotional development. Offering a wide range of provision and services, Li Ren is a through school department working with students, parents and the ISF community.

Responsibilities:

The Inclusive Education Aide is to support an individual Primary School student in class and during non‐structured times at school. He/ She has to work closely with the student’s teachers, parents and the Li Ren team to implement the individualized support plan;

Build strong rapport and positive relationship with the identified student;

Help or teach the student to communicate his/her emotions and needs using appropriate means;

Support class teachers in the implementation of differentiated learning and support strategies;

Work in partnership with Teachers and Li Ren to implement aspects of learning plans for the student;

Communicate regularly with Assistant Principal Primary, Li Ren and Teachers, and also with parents;

Document the students’ progress clearly and participate in the case review actively making suggestions;

Respect confidentiality and be diligent on the information sharing or release when working with different people; and

Attend case conference and meetings as required, and actively seek in house Professional Development or professional learning opportunities in the field of learning diversity.

Requirements:

Adequate knowledge in inclusive education and training in specialized learning and behavior intervention, for instance, Applied Behavioral Analysis, English and/or Chinese learning intervention, etc.;

Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in school setting;

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, i.e. be able to relate well with the student, Teachers and parents;

Demonstrate the flexibility and adaptability to sensibly adjust the intensity of support required in class; and

Empathic understanding, hardworking and patient.

Preferred: Fluent in English and Chinese (Putonghua) communications;

Working Hours:

7:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday with additional duties beyond working hours to better support students participating in school events and excursions.
