Job summary

ISF seeks an Inclusive Education Aide to support an individual Primary School student in class and during non-structured times at school. You will work closely with the student, teachers, parents and the Li Ren team to implement the individualized support plan.

You will build rapport, assist the student in expressing emotions and needs, and support differentiated learning in partnership with teachers and Li Ren, while maintaining confidentiality and seeking ongoing professional development

Responsibilities

• Support an individual primary school student in class and during non-structured times at school.
• Build rapport and positive relationship with the identified student.
• Help the student communicate emotions and needs using appropriate means.
• Support class teachers in differentiated learning and support strategies.
• Collaborate with Teachers and Li Ren to implement aspects of learning plans.
• Document the student’s progress and participate in case reviews, offering suggestions.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle information sharing responsibly.
• Attend case conferences and meetings and pursue in-house professional development.

• The Inclusive Education Aide is to support an individual Primary School student in class and during non-structured times at school. He/ She has to work closely with the student’s teachers, parents and the Li Ren team to implement the individualized support plan;
• Build strong rapport and positive relationship with the identified student;
• Help or teach the student to communicate his/her emotions and needs using appropriate means;
• Support class teachers in the implementation of differentiated learning and support strategies;
• Work in partnership with Teachers and Li Ren to implement aspects of learning plans for the student;
• Communicate regularly with Assistant Principal Primary, Li Ren and Teachers, and also with parents;
• Document the students’ progress clearly and participate in the case review actively making suggestions;
• Respect confidentiality and be diligent on the information sharing or release when working with different people; and
• Attend case conference and meetings as required, and actively seek in house Professional Development or professional learning opportunities in the field of learning diversity.
