Michael Page International (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a seasoned HR & Admin, Assistant Manager to lead HR operations and office administration in our Hong Kong office. You will own payroll, MPF, taxation, records, onboarding and offboarding, ensuring compliance with local law and company policies.

You will drive HR process improvements, SOPs, and system implementations while supporting recruitment across functions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of combined HR and Administration experience.
  • Experience in small-to-medium-sized trading/Chinese company environments is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Hong Kong employment practices, payroll, MPF, taxation and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience implementing HR systems, policies, SOPs, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Oversee the full spectrum of HR operations and office administration in Hong Kong.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll, MPF processing, taxation matters and employee records.

Job Description

As the sole HR and Administration Assistant Manager within the Hong Kong office, you will take ownership of the full spectrum of HR operations and office administration while supporting the business through process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
You will manage end-to-end HR operations, including payroll administration, MPF processing, taxation matters, employee records management, onboarding and offboarding activities, and ensuring compliance with local employment legislation and company policies. You will also support recruitment activities across various functions, partnering with hiring managers to identify talent needs and coordinate the hiring process effectively.
A key focus of this role will be building a more structured and scalable HR framework. You will review existing practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhanced HR processes, systems, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) that improve efficiency, governance, and compliance. You will play an important role in driving system implementation and supporting process automation where appropriate.
From an administration perspective, you will oversee the smooth day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring employees have the necessary support and resources to perform effectively. Responsibilities include coordinating office facilities matters, managing relationships with building management and external vendors, supporting insurance administration, organising and facilitating client visits and meetings, and maintaining a professional and well-functioning workplace environment.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and recommend new ideas that enhance both HR and workplace operations. As the organisation continues to develop, this position will also provide exposure to regional projects, including collaboration with headquarters in Mainland China on talent management initiatives, process harmonisation, and other strategic HR enhancement programs.

The Successful Applicant

A successful HR & Admin, Assistant Manager / Sr. Officer should have:-

  • Minimum 10 years of combined Human Resources and Administration experience
  • Prior HR experience working within a small-to-medium-sized organisation, trading business, or Chinese company environment will be advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of Hong Kong employment practices, payroll administration, MPF, taxation, and HR compliance requirements
  • Experience implementing HR systems, policies, SOPs, or process improvement initiatives
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Mature minded, reliable, and professional with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Proactive and hands-on approach, with the confidence to identify issues and drive improvements independently
  • Comfortable working in an evolving and ambiguous environment where processes may not yet be fully established
  • Flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated with the ability to make things happen with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across different stakeholder groups
  • Experience supporting office administration and coordinating with external vendors and service providers
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with both local leadership and headquarters stakeholders
  • Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English is essential, both written and spoken
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Senior Officer
