Job summary

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a Senior Manager, Charities (Mainland & Global Programmes) to lead the end-to-end development of a strategic philanthropy platform. The role involves concept development, operating model design, business cases, and making grant recommendations to the Board for implementation.

You will design regional/global initiatives, engage global funders and institutions, and help shape the knowledge ecosystem on philanthropic practice across IoP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with over 10 years of relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of philanthropic topics and practices, and network and experience in Mainland and/or global philanthropic sector strongly preferred.
• Business development competence.
• Strong project management skills.
• Events organisation and management experience.
• Strong analytical abilities and ability to apply strategic frameworks and problem solving approaches.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of initiatives focused on regional and global philanthropy, including the Foundations Circle, and research projects with research firms and universities.
• Develop and execute engagement activities and forums related to key research publications for global funders, multilateral organisations, policymakers and other stakeholders.
• Support identification of strategic partners, conduct due diligence, and contribute to partnerships with reputable institutions for knowledge dissemination on philanthropic practices.
• Contribute to the curation of a library of publications with regional/global value on non-profit topics.
• Monitor progress of outputs and budget, and prepare strategic presentations to Management.
• Provide governance support and secretarial assistance for committees and working groups.
