Job summary

Hong Kong HashKey Capital seeks an experienced Assistant Manager, Fund Operations to lead daily ETF operations for HKEX-listed spot ETFs and to act as a hands-on contributor across hedge funds, OFC, SPC and VC fund vehicles.

The role requires navigating digital asset operations alongside traditional finance, with a flexible scope that evolves with business needs. Strong Excel, KYC/AML, and cross‑functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of fund operations experience at an asset manager, ETF issuer, fund administrator or trustee.
• Hands-on ETF operations experience including creation/redemption, PCF coordination, and market maker coordination.
• Solid hedge fund/OFC operations experience with knowledge of fund structures and SFC regulations.
• Exposure to VC fund operations is a plus and Crypto/Web3 interest is crucial.
• Strong Excel, analytical and communications skills; fluent English; Mandarin/Cantonese a plus.

Responsibilities

• ETF Operations: manage day-to-day spot ETF operations, cash and in-kind creations/redemptions, NAV/iNAV review, and reconciliations with custodians and dealers.
• Hedge Fund & OFC Operations: oversee reconciliations, dealing, fee calculations and NAV review across HK hedge funds and VC/OFC vehicles.
• Onboarding & Treasury: lead counterparty onboarding and KYC/AML docs; monitor fiat and digital asset balances with banks and custodians.
• Controls & Projects: maintain SOPs and controls aligned with SFC requirements; support new product launches and process improvements.
• VC Support (Secondary): assist VC fund operations, including capital calls and distributions; track SAFT/token warrants as needed.
• Team & Flexible Scope: supervise juniors and adapt scope across fund vehicles and ad-hoc projects.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Fund Operations to lead day-to-day operations for our HKEX-listed Bitcoin and Ether spot ETFs, while acting as a hands-on "plug-in" across our hedge fund, Hong Kong OFC and VC fund vehicles. Unlike traditional finance roles, this position requires navigating the complexities of digital asset operations alongside traditional financial plumbing. The scope will evolve with business needs, so we are looking for someone flexible and willing to take on a broad range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• ETF Operations: Own day-to-day operations for our spot ETFs, including cash and in-kind creations/redemptions, PCF and NAV/iNAV review, and virtual asset reconciliations, acting as the main operational contact for the custodian, Participating Dealers, market makers and other service providers.
• Hedge Fund & OFC Operations: Oversee reconciliations, dealing, fee calculations and NAV review for our Hong Kong hedge funds, OFC and SPC vehicles, working closely with fund administrators and auditors.
• Onboarding & Treasury: Lead counterparty onboarding and KYC/AML documentation, and monitor fiat and digital asset balances across banks, exchanges and custodians.
• Controls & Projects: Maintain SOPs and controls in line with SFC requirements, and support new product launches (including ETFs and tokenised funds) and process improvements.
• VC Support (Secondary): Support VC fund operations as needed, such as capital calls, distributions and SAFT/token warrant tracking.
• Team & Flexible Scope: Review the work of junior team members and take on a broader scope across our fund vehicles and ad-hoc projects as business needs evolve.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with 5-8 years of fund operations experience at an asset manager, ETF issuer, fund administrator or trustee. Title will be commensurate with experience.
• Hands-on ETF operations experience (creation/redemption, PCF, Participating Dealer and market maker coordination); experience with HKEX-listed, virtual asset or OFC-structured ETFs is highly advantageous.
• Solid hedge fund and/or HK OFC operations experience, with a good understanding of fund structures (Cayman Islands, BVI, HK OFC) and SFC fund regulations.
• Exposure to VC fund operations is a plus.
• Crucial: Strong personal interest in Crypto/Web3. Familiarity with wallets or block explorers (Etherscan, Solscan) is a strong plus.
• Flexible and hands-on, comfortable with an evolving scope in a lean, fast-paced team.
• Strong Excel, analytical and communication skills, with high attention to detail (critical for verifying wallet addresses and transaction amounts). Fluent English; Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a plus.
