We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Digital Learning Development Manager to manage and oversee the design, development, implementation and continuous enhancement of digital learning solutions. Reporting to the Head of the Education and Development Department, the role will provide instructional design expertise, manage digital learning projects, supervise developers and support the technical use of the Learning Management System (LMS), multimedia tools and eLearning platforms.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
This role involves supervising digital learning developers, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of engaging, effective and scalable learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a blend of instructional design expertise, project management acumen, and leadership skills to drive the success of digital learning initiatives.
You will be responsible for the following key areas:
1. Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and supervise digital learning developers and coordinate project resources across internal and external teams
- Assign tasks, provide guidance and feedback, and support a collaborative and quality-focused team environment
- Oversee resource allocation and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
2. Content Development and Instructional Design
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of engaging and interactive digital learning content (e.g., eLearning modules, videos, simulations, microlearning, etc.)
- Develop, review and refine storyboards, scripts, interactive courseware and multimedia learning assets
- Ensure learning materials are aligned with instructional design principles, learning objectives, and organisational goals
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in digital learning, leveraging tools such as gamification, AR/VR, and AI-driven learning
3. Project and Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, primarily IT departments, to identify technical requirements and ensure seamless integration of digital learning solutions
- Work closely with external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather content and translate it into effective digital learning solutions
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with client requirements
- Liaise with external vendors and support the evaluation and procurement of digital learning content and services
- Work with clients and internal stakeholders to support the development of customised digital learning solutions
4. Quality Assurance and Evaluation
- Establish and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the consistency and effectiveness of digital learning content
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of learning solutions, gathering feedback to continuously improve learner engagement and outcomes
- Develop metrics and reporting tools to measure the success of digital learning initiatives
5. Technology and Innovation
- Support the evaluation and optimisation of learning technologies and recommend enhancements where appropriate
- Keep abreast of digital learning tools and recommend practical enhancements to improve learning design, production efficiency and learner experience
Qualification and Experience Required:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree or above in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Educational Technology, or a related field
- At least five (5) years of experience in digital learning development, instructional design, or a similar role
- At least two (2) years of team leadership, supervisory or people management experience
- Hands-on experience using Articulate 360 (including Storyline and Rise 360), Adobe Captivate or similar authoring tools
- Experience working with external vendors, multimedia production partners and subject matter experts will be an advantage
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong project management skills and proven experience in managing system development and enhancement
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and consulting skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate and improve learning programmes
- Passion for innovation and continuous learning in the digital learning space
- Expertise in digital learning technologies, including LMS administration and eLearning authoring tools
- Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, and other eLearning standards
- Familiarity with graphic design and multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia) is a plus
- Understanding of user experience (UX) and accessibility standards in digital learning
- Good command in English and Chinese, both written and verbal. Fluent in Putonghua will be an advantage
- A good team player who can work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and loyalty
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and perform effectively under pressure
- Ability to work collaboratively, taking a leadership role when required and a supporting role where appropriate
