Job summary

Amazon AWS Data Center Engineering Operations team in Hong Kong seeks a seasoned leader to oversee the 24x7 engineering operations and the critical facilities across our Hong Kong campus, ensuring safety, uptime, and efficient performance.

You will lead multiple technicians and the Chief Engineer, drive preventive maintenance, manage budgets and CapEx/OpEx, coordinate with vendors, and direct incident investigations. Strong English and Chinese communication is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of critical facility engineering and operations experience, 5+ years in people management
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in data centers ( feeders, transformers, gensets, UPS, CRAC, etc)
• Experience with budgets
• Experience with project management
• REW Certificate (Grade B0 or above)
• Change, problem and incident management experience
• Fluent Chinese and English communication

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and control systems across the data center
• Lead and develop teams of 24x7 Engineering Operations Technicians and Chief Engineer
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance to minimize disruption
• Develop and review operation documentation (MOP, SOP, EOP)
• Engage in expansion and improvement projects from conception to completion
• Oversee third-party vendor relationships and monitor SLAs
• Manage CapEx and OpEx to meet operational needs
• Serve as primary contact for the data center; manage outages and drills
• Lead incident investigations with root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
