Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a senior Data Center Operations Manager in Hong Kong to lead multiple operator teams, manage outages, and ensure world-class service delivery for global infrastructure. You will drive process improvements, safety, and security while coordinating across finance, facilities, and engineering.

The role requires 10+ years of people management, strong incident management skills, and fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of people management experience with direct reports as their performance manager.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of change, problem and incident management.
• Literacy in security and customer data protection.
• Fluent verbal and written proficiency in Chinese and English.
• Financial understanding in annual budgeting, Capex and Opex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manage performance of data center operation teams and ensure delivery against KPIs.
• Oversee day-to-day data center operations including queue management, 24/7 shift patterns and hardware logistics.
• Serve as SME across data center operations and drive process improvements and automation.
• Lead Large Scale Events (outages) and act as the call leader.
• Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations while maintaining service quality.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage the performance of team(s) of data center operation processionals
• Ensure effective and efficient management of day to day data center operations including queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement and hardware logistics
• Fast learn or act as the subject matter expert across all aspects in data center operations
• Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are being measured and met
• Inspire and guide improvement in team process, technology innovation and automation
• Manage Large Scale Events (outages) and act as the call leader
• Manage and improve the work-flows and through-put for data centers operations
• Be passionate about the quality and quantity of services being provided, and continuously strive to improve our Customer Experience

Knowledge of data center MEP Infrastructure: Power, Cooling & Facilities Management

In-depth knowledge of data center operations, processes and continuous processes improvement

Experience in data center Safety and Security measures

Knowledge of data center server capacity planning

Data mining/analysis skill

ITIL Foundation, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma and/or Risk related certifications

Data Center related certification - CDCP/S/E, CDCMP/TP. Linux certification and/or administration experience
