Job summary

Amazon Web Services Hong Kong Limited is seeking engineers to own and operate data center functions, including 7x24 support, incident response, break-fix, and capacity management. The role requires adapting to fast-changing environments and shift work including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IT system hardware and network concepts.
• Experience with English-language communication (written and verbal).

• 1+ years in server hardware troubleshooting or network equipment installation/configuration.
• 1+ years in network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, or related roles.
• Degree or higher in Information Technology / Computer Science / Engineering or related fields.
• Strong incident response and prioritization understanding.

The successful candidate shall follow Amazon Data Center processes and maintain high operational standards in supporting server and network hardware and software. They need to adapt to fast and constantly changing environment and will require shift work including weekend and holiday.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of IT system hardware and network concepts
• Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service and experience in managing and troublshooting network
• 1+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience with network equipment installation and configuration
• 1+ years of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment experience, or experience in similar technical roles
• Degree / High Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Information Technology / Computer Science / Engineering or related disciplines
• Sound understanding on incidents response and prioritization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in data center engineering or operations, or experience in operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities
• 1+ years of data center experience, or experience in networking
• Knowledge of cloud computing technologies
• Knowledge of process improvement and quality measures
• Literacy in security and customer data protection
