Job summary

Canton Recovery in Hong Kong seeks a Multilingual Collection Agent to negotiate amicably with South Asian diaspora debtors in their native languages. You will build rapport through cultural context and direct fluency, aiming for settlements that balance creditor needs with debtor circumstances.

Maintain PDPO-compliant logs, collaborate with case managers and legal partners, and demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging conversations.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and at least one of Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, or Nepali.
• 2+ years of collections, negotiation, or customer-facing experience.
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient negotiator.
• Good written documentation discipline.
• Understanding of PDPO principles for debtor contact.

Responsibilities

• Handle amicable negotiation cases in Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, or Nepali.
• Negotiate settlements with cultural fluency and respect.
• Maintain detailed communication logs in the relevant language.
• Coordinate with case managers on case status.
• Escalate to legal partners where amicable resolution is not possible.
• Ensure full PDPO compliance across all debtor contact.
