Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support Global Relationship Banker in developing and managing large HK-based corporate relationships.

• Identify strategies to maintain and enhance relationship returns and early credit issue detection.
• Provide industry, competitor, and peer analysis for business development and risk assessment.
• Identify marketing opportunities and prepare proposals, presentations, and pitches.
• Prepare client meeting materials and participate in client meetings.
• Complete credit risk reviews including limit excess, security, and monthly reports.
• Facilitate KYC for onboarding/transactions and coordinate KYC renewal cases.
• Ensure compliance with internal/external rules and maintain audit readiness.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Associate.

In This Role You Will

• To support Global Relationship Banker (GRB) in developing and managing large Hong Kong based corporate relationships, which includes maintenance and penetration for strong existing relationships.
• Act as primary point of contact for clients and internal colleagues. Work with various product teams to ensure seamless delivery of client solutions and efficient feedback to client inquiries.
• Contribute to identifying strategies to maintain / enhance overall relationship return and ensure early identification of potential credit issues.
• Provide high quality industry sector, competitor, and peer analysis to support business development, portfolio management and credit risk assessment.
• Identify marketing opportunities, undertaking appropriate analysis and preparation of proposals, presentations and pitches for new products and services.
• Prepare client meeting materials/presentations, and where relevant participate in and contribute to high quality of client meetings.
• Complete review and submission of credit risk returns including limit excess/exception, security/documentation outstanding, monthly credit control reports etc.
• Facilitate KYC for new client onboarding/transactions as well as coordinate ongoing KYC renewal cases.
• Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business.
• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

To Be Successful You Will Need

• Deep business knowledge of HK corporate banking clients and products.
• University graduate with excellent client service skills.
• Experience in client facing role and/or corporate banking experience
• Good understanding of risk management and risk mitigation.
• Familiar with HK regulatory requirements and KYC standards.
• Strong attention to detail and be able to work independently under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for more junior positions.
