Job summary

SGS in Hong Kong is seeking a qualified professional to lead and maintain the laboratory quality management system, ensuring ISO 17025 compliance and driving continual quality improvements.

You will plan internal audits, manage LIMS, lead test development and R&D projects, and provide technical guidance while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality of reports. Strong communication and independent work ethic are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the laboratory quality management system to ensure ISO 17025 compliance.
• Plan and conduct internal audits and drive continuous quality improvements.
• Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of lab reports.
• Lead new test development, method improvement and R&D projects.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints with corrective actions.
• Manage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Evaluate external service providers to meet quality and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and compliance support to internal teams and customers.
• Lead team development: recruitment, performance management and training.
• Develop training plans aligned with business objectives.

Job description

• Lead and maintain the laboratory quality management system to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and relevant accreditation requirements.
• Plan and conduct internal audits and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of laboratory data and test reports.
• Lead new test development, method improvement and R&D projects to support business growth.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage and maintain the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Evaluate and manage external service providers and suppliers to ensure quality and compliance requirements are met.
• Provide technical guidance and compliance support to internal teams and customers.
• Lead team development, including recruitment, manpower planning, performance management and staff training.
• Build and implement training and development plans aligned with business objectives and employee growth.
• Support operational excellence and perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Science, Physics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; experience in toy testing is an advantage.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Mature, proactive and able to work independently.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and solution-driven.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
• Experience in testing, quality assurance, compliance or technical services is preferred.
• Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Technical Service Executive.
