Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is an advantage
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, HKICPA, ACCA, or equivalent is required
  • Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience in Finance, including leadership role overseeing financial planning, reporting and control
  • Proven experience in driving process improvement and operational transformation
  • Demonstrated exposure to workplace operations, facilities management and capital projects, with the ability to integrate operational and financial considerations
  • Hands-on experience in leading change and project management
  • Strong track record in business partnering and stakeholder management at senior levels
  • Strategic yet hands-on leader with strong financial acumen and the ability to connect finance with operations and service delivery

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning to ensure sustainable financial performance
  • Provide strategic insights and financial analysis to support organizational goals and decision-making
  • Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions to optimize resources
  • Act as a trusted business partner to operational leaders on financial management and decision-making
  • Support fund applications, investment decisions and new initiatives with robust financial analysis and insights
  • Drive financial discipline and accountability across departments
  • Engage with senior management, auditors, regulators and external stakeholders
  • Communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain appropriate financial policies, ensuring strong internal controls, regulatory compliance and adherence to organizational requirements
  • Oversee statutory audit and other audits required by funding parties and ensure timely resolution of audit findings
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and statutory obligations
  • Serve as Secretary to the Finance Committee, ensuring effective governance processes, high-quality reporting and appropriate follow-up actions
  • Drive end-to-end process excellence across finance and administrative functions by streamlining workflows, reducing cycle times and enhancing accuracy, efficiency and service quality through standardization, automation and digitalization
  • Oversee monthly and year-end finance closing processes to ensure timely, accurate and high-quality financial reporting and management insights
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to strengthen and continuously improve service delivery
  • Provide strategic oversight of facilities and administrative functions, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and service needs
  • Steer asset stewardship to ensure facilities are safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose
  • Govern renovation and capital projects, including new facilities, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline and budget
  • Monitor KPIs and provide regular updates to the Building Committee on the status of heritage buildings and new facilities
  • Build and lead teams by providing clear direction, coaching, support and ongoing development to maximize individual and team potential
  • Manage, coach and develop employees to meet current and future organizational needs, including succession planning and capacity building

Position Description

The Assistant Director, Finance and Administration provides integrated leadership across finance, facilities and administrative functions, bringing together operational capabilities to drive efficiency, standardization and operational excellence. The role is accountable for ensuring financial sustainability, robust governance, and seamless service delivery in support of Mother’s Choice mission and long-term impact.

This role combines strategic financial stewardship with enterprise-wide operational leadership. It leads financial planning, performance management and business partnering to support sustainable growth, while transforming finance into a low-touch, process-driven function enabled by automation, strong internal control and continuous improvement.

In parallel, the role provides strategic leadership over facilities and administrative functions to advance operational effectiveness and service excellence. It sets the direction for the stewardship of the organization’s physical assets, ensuring buildings are safe, fit-for-purpose and enable the delivery of high-quality services. The role also leads the planning and execution of major capital initiatives, including heritage asset preservation and the development of new facilities, to support the organization’s long-term growth and impact.

Job Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership and Sustainability
