A leading manufacturing company in Sutton Coldfield seeks an experienced professional to support PLC programming and machinery optimization. The role requires 13 years of experience in programming across various languages and involvement in commissioning and troubleshooting. - 13 years of PLC programming experience (any language considered).
- Ideally 1+ year in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Able to support machine programming, installation, configuration and fault finding.
Responsibilities
- Support the programming, modification and optimisation of PLC-controlled machinery on site.
- Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting and improving production processes.
- Ensure machinery and automated systems run efficiently, safely and reliably.

37.5 hours | Flexible Start / Finish | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
- Support the programming, modification and optimisation of PLC‑controlled machinery on site
- Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting and improving production processes
- Learn and develop in ABB Rapid (no prior Rapid experience needed – full training provided)
- Ensure machinery and automated systems run efficiently, safely and reliably
- Work hands‑on at the heart of the manufacturing environment, supporting continuous improvements
- 13 years PLC programming experience (any language considered)
- Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, Omron, ABB etc.
- Ideally 1+ year in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Able to support machine programming, installation, configuration and fault finding
- Keen to learn, progress and eventually step into a more lead‑oriented role
- Comfortable working on site and close to the shop floor (this is not a remote role)
- Huge scope for progression into a Lead / Senior Controls role over time
- Training and development provided on ABB’s Rapid platform
