Job summary
A growing finance company in Manchester is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the finance team. This role offers a salary between £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, with 25 days of annual leave and opportunities for professional development. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or experienced Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a business that truly values development, flexibility, and teamwork.
As the Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day running of the finance function, including:
Preparing month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
Assisting with management accounts production
Maintaining fixed asset registers
Balance sheet reconciliations
Assisting with cashflow forecasting and reporting
Processing invoices and supporting the purchase and sales ledger teams when required
Supporting year-end audit preparation
Helping to drive process improvements across the finance function
We're looking for someone with:
Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
Strong Excel and IT skills (experience with Sage or similar ERP systems desirable)
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team
Ideally studying towards or qualified with AAT, or early stages of CIMA/ACCA
£32,000 - £35,000 per annum
25 days annual leave + bank holidays
